SIFE Bio-Fuel Project - Bloomsburg University

The Bloomsburg University Students in Free Enterprise club took part in the Bio-Fuel Project during the fall 2008 semester. Originally started by the science department, this environmentally sustainable project helps recycle and reduce unnecessary waste.
We begin by collecting donated waste vegetable oil from local restaurants which is then run though a process to create an alternative fuel. This is organized by students and done on campus. A campus shuttle bus was then converted to run on our Bio-Fuel and runs regularly as a means of transportation for students.
This project affects over 1,400 students each semester and advertizes its environmental benefits in its appearance. The Bloomsburg University Science department as well at Students in Free Enterprise Club is working hard to increase the number of individuals impacted by this project in the future. Our goal is to convert more campus transportation vehicles to this alternative fuel.
